Braid Quilt Made from Jelly Roll Strips

Jelly Roll Braid Quilt

Jelly Roll Braid Quilt

Mickey just sent in a question about strips in a jelly roll.

I made this quilt top from one jelly roll, which had 42 strips included in the roll - with light and dark materials, plus I added a couple of other fabrics for borders and sashing.

I had lots left over, the jelly roll strips were cut 6 1/2 inches long, one laid horizontal, and the second vertical, stitching along the horizontal edge, then adding on each horizontal and vertical sides until I had added 32 - 6 1/2 inch strips horizontally/vertically.

One side was all lights, and the other was all darks, with borders and sashing between the braided strips. This was really easy to put together. Now I just have to do sandwich, quilt and add binding.
