How Many Blocks for Full Size Quilt?

by Patricia
(KY)

How many blocks does it take to make a full size quilt(four patch)?

ANSWER

The number of blocks depends on the size of your finished blocks (sewn into the quilt). For example, the smaller the blocks, the more you'll require.

So, if you use 6" blocks, it will take more blocks to make a full size quilt. But, if you use 12" blocks, it will take less blocks to make a full size quilt.

You also have to figure in your sashing strips (if you're going to add any) and your border strips. All these elements determine the finished size of your quilt.
