How Many Squares?

by Pam
(Austin, CO)

How many 22" X 22" squares can I get out of a yard of fabric?

ANSWER

If your fabric width is 45"-46" wide, you can cut (TWO) 22" x 22" squares. If you tried to use a 44-inch width fabric, you'd fall short. That's because your width would only measure about 43 1/2" after you removed the selvage edges.
