Kurt's Tennessee Beauty

A Tennesse beauty

My wife and I had become empty nesters, and I work in a stressful job. We took up quilting to fill the void of no kids and to spend time together. Quilting relaxes me and I find it to be really enjoyable.

This was my 1st quilt by myself, but we had together done 3 others. She lets me do all the cutting (I can stay on the ruler better) and then we will piece together the blocks.

She's better at lining up seams, but I can see "the overall picture" the quilt in my mind as we start working it. So we complement each others abilities. We have since this quilt put together 6 more that we have given as gifts to family and friends, we really enjoy doing lap quilts.

My wife just purchased an embrodery machine and has gotten the patterns down so she can add to our quilts.

Fantastic!

Your quilt is absolutely awesome. I love everything about it. And I think it's wonderful how you both work together to design and make quilts.

My husband and I are the same way. He loves to help me with quilting projects, and he gives me a lot of ideas for designing this site. We're almost members of the Empty Nesters' Club. Right now, we still have a few stragglers at home (two out of three daughters). But that could change before long.

Keep up the great work, and please send us more quilt photos. They're an inspiration to all of us. Thanks for sharing!
