Ohio State Blanket Quilt
Two of my girlfriends and I spent a long weekend at a mountain cabin in N Georgia in 2009. Both of my girlfriends were quilters but I was not. During our stay we visited 4 quilt stores. I got caught up by all the beautiful fabrics & colors and bought some fabric for a quilt I wanted to try making and also a wall hanging. I brought the fabric home and stored it away not sure how to get started. My girlfriends, unfortunately, do not live close enough to get together with very often so I was on my own to figure out how to get started.
I finally searched the internet and found your sight. I downloaded your course and decided to get started. I was amazed at how easy your instructions were and enjoyed it so much I got carried away and made 2 of each of the blocks in your course then I made several variations of my own.
In the mean time I decided that I wanted to make my son an Ohio State quilt for his birthday. So I set my original blocks aside and started on his quilt. It was a major labor of love and took longer than I expected but I finally completed it several months past his birthday. With his quilt done I could go back to my original blocks.
1 year after starting my first blocks I have finally been able to complete my Sampler Quilt. It did not end up as a wall hanging but as a lap size quilt that I am enjoying cuddling up in as I watch TV in the evening.
I can't wait to start my next project of the wall hanging that I bought fabric for on my trip to the mountains.
