Making a Rag Quilt

by Vanessa
(Cortez Colorado USA)

How do I get a straight edge for my squares, and what is the easiest method for cutting 5x5 squares?

ANSWER

When you're making a rag quilt, use a rotary cutter. It's the fastest, easiest and most accurate way to cut out your squares. I usually stack two layers of fabric together, and then cut my squares.

Here's a video that shows how to cut squares for a rag quilt. The gal works with denim, but this method works for fleece as well. Enjoy!
