Mitered Border

by Clara Jane
(Carson City,NV)

How do I make a mitered border?

ANSWER

A mitered border gives your quilt a clean, professional look. But, I must warn you. Mitered borders are more challenging to sew than traditional borders. That's why some quilters shy away from them. But, if you have the determination, go for it. You can do it!
Currently, I don't teach this method to beginning quilters. But I found a couple websites that demonstrate this technique. I hope they're helpful.

Heirloom Quilts---When you arrive at this site, scroll down to the middle of the page to access the mitered border instructions.

Bee Creative Studios

Here's a good book about quilt borders, including mitered quilt borders.
