Mom's Quilt

by Terry
(Ocala)

Last summer I began by making a lap quilt for Mom for Christmas. Then when I went to visit her she gave me several pieces of material and asked me to make her an oriental quilt. (I already did!)

So, I made her a queen sized quilt too and thought I'd give her one for her Christmas and save the other for her January birthday.

In the mean time she had an accident and broke her hip. In the process of preparing her for surgery, she went code blue on the table and gave us all quite a scare. I rushed back to her and brought the lap quilt to comfort her during recovery. That left me a gift short.

For Christmas she got the bed quilt and for her birthday... well, I made her the pillow shams and a throw pillow. (The lap quilt and pillow are on the chair in the background.)

I don't remember where I got the pattern, but it's oriental lanterns.

Lovely quilts and kind daughter.

You gotta know how special that made your mother feel, that was a very comforting thought for your mother to receive in her time of need. I hope your Mother is doing well - I'll include you both in my prayers.

I loved your quilt, your color choices are striking and your oriental quilt makes this room very inviting.

Thanks for sharing your inspirational work.
