Muslin for a Backing?

by Michelle
(Surrey, BC)

I am a newbie quilter, and I finally finished the top of my quilt. Now I'm looking for a backing. I noticed at Joanns that they have a 108" wide muslin which would be perfect for the back, so I wouldn't have to piece it together.

But I'm not sure if muslin would work. The top is made of flannel and the batting is bamboo. What are your thoughts?

ANSWER

Muslin would work nicely for your quilt. It's strong and it's got a fabric weight consistent with flannel. We'd love to see your quilt when it's done. Please consider submitting a story and photo of it to my Quilt Story page.
