Quilt Binding

I am getting ready to put the binding on my quilt. I have read your lesson on binding. I am confused on the raw edge on the back. How do I not have one?

ANSWER

You didn't do anything wrong. You're not supposed to have raw edges on the backside. When you fold your binding strip to the back of your quilt, it encases the raw edges. So, only the folded edges should be visible.

I created a diagram (below) to help you understand what I'm saying.
