Quilt Labels on the Computer

by Dea
(Utica, NY)

I like to make quilt labels on my Double Jet HP Printer - Love the way they look - but know they are not waterproof - is there a product you can buy to spray on this printing to make it waterproof? Thanks!

ANSWER

Hi, Dea. There's a few ways to set the ink into your quilt labels. If you don't mind doing a little work, try C. Jenkins' Bubble Jet Set 2000. Just soak your fabric in this solution for 5 minutes, let the fabric dry and then iron your fabric onto freezer paper. Your fabric is ready for the printer.

If you're looking for a simpler way to make quilt labels, try using HP Miracle Fabric Sheets. These are high quality, pre-treated fabric sheets. The manufacturer claims they'll maintain 99% of the inks in your label. I've read the reviews, and people really love making quilt labels with this product.
