Obviously, I tell them that because it's easier for them to do. But, there's more to it than that. If you use a simple pattern you'll:

1. See results of your efforts right away.
   
2. Maintain an interest in your project.
   
3. Gain a gigantic confidence boost.
   
4. Finish your quilt sooner.

I've seen them take on large, complicated designs. Halfway through, they give up in frustration, never to return to quilting again. This is unfortunate.

For that reason, it's always best to start with a small project that contains simple quilt square patterns. Just take it slowly and carefully. Soon, you'll have enough skill and confidence to take on more completed projects.

Patchwork Quilting Made Easy

In it, you'll learn how to sew a small sampler quilt. The sampler contains six easy quilt square patterns which you sew in order of increasing challenge.

Once you've sewn your blocks, I'll teach you how to add sashing, borders and binding. I'll also show you how to quilt the layers and how to create a lovely quilt label.
