Quilted Bag - Apple Core/Indian Hatchet Block

by Sue Maynard
(Perth Australia)

I have spent ages searching for a pattern for a bag (purse) using the apple core block (aka indian hatchet or spools). I want it to be closed at the top, either with a zip or a flap and magnetic closer. I would be so grateful if you are able to help. Love your site.

ANSWER

Sue, I searched the internet for your quilted bag pattern. But the only pattern I could find was this spool purse pattern. The apple core (indian hatchet) block is also known as "double ax head." I searched the internet using this name, but I found nothing.

Perhaps one of our fellow quilters has this pattern or knows where to find it. If anyone can help Sue, please reply to this post via the "Click Here to Post Comments" link at the bottom of this page.

Thanks for your question, Sue. I hope you're able to locate your pattern.
