Sewing a King Size Quilt

Hi!
I'm fairly new to quilting and have made a few smaller sized projects. I would like to make a simple quilt for my king-sized bed, but I am unsure if it is possible to do this on a regular sewing machine. Thanks for your help!
ANSWERSewing a king size quilt on a regular sewing machine is definitely possible. Quilters do it all the time. Sewing the quilt top is relatively easy.
The hard part comes when you try to quilt the three layers together. A quilt that size is large and heavy and can be difficult to maneuver. But, you can support the bulk of your quilt on a couple of tables. This will help a lot.
I know many quilters who like to quilt their own quilts. But, when it comes to queen and king size quilts, they send them out to be professionally finished. That's what I do. Once my quilt is quilted, I just add a label and binding. It's worth it to me because it saves me time and hassle.
Whatever you decide, I wish you a pleasant experience. Thanks for your question.
