What are the typical sizes of wall hanging quilts? ANSWER If you can hang your quilt on the wall, you can call it a wall hanging. Wall hanging sizes can range from 25" square to a king-size quilt that's displayed in a museum or other public place. I go into more detail about wall hanging sizes in this post. Also keep in mind that not all wall hangings are square. There are rectangular and even round wall hangings. So, as you can see, there's no exact formula for calculating wall hanging sizes. Please don't get hung up on numbers. Just sew a wall hanging that pleases you, and be happy that you're a part of this wonderful art form. It's all about freedom of expression.
