Stitching Quilt Layers Together

I have a Brother machine. How can I stitch through all thicknesses without material bunching up on top?

ANSWER

No matter what brand of machine you have, it's always a good idea to use a walking foot. This presser foot is designed specifically for quilting the layers together.

It grips all three quilt layers and feeds them through your machine at the same rate. This eliminates puckers and makes quilting so much easier. Here's a photo of a walking foot. Happy quilting!
