Thread Knots

by Carolyn Cory

Gloria, Thank you for your answer but I forgot to tell you I wanted to hand quilt my top not use the machine. How do you hide the knots so they won't show?

ANSWER
  1. Tie a double knot in your thread, about 1/4" above your quilt top.
  2. Insert your needle into starting point of the last stitch you made.
  3. Push the needle into the batting, along the stitching line. Do not pierce the backing fabric.
  4. Bring the needle to the surface at the beginning of an existing stitch.
  5. Give thread a gentle tug. This buries the knot in the batting.
  6. Cut thread close to the surface of the quilt top.
